Juventus Italian victory

A last-gasp goal from Swede Dejan Kulusevski allowed Juventus to win by the minimum at Zenit St. Petersburg (0-1), in a match in which the Italians strictly applied the law of minimum effort.

This victory allows the transalpinos to maintain the leadership of group H alone with full points, three in three games, ahead of Chelsea, with six.

It was an Italian match in which both teams played without goals. Neither Chiesa nor Morata had their day, but the entrance of the young Kulusevski (21 years old) in the middle of the second half was providential.

Aware of their inferiority, the Russians opted to give the ball to the Italian squad and go on the counterattack, taking advantage of the slowness of the visiting center-backs, Bonucci and De Ligt. The Russian cobweb broke at 86 minutes. The local technician paid dearly for his racanería.

Tonight Massimiliano Allegri returned ownership to Álvaro Morata, who was accompanied on the bands by Chiesa and Bernardeschi. He promised the Bianconera lead, but did not give a right.

Meanwhile, Sergei Semak came out with his usual trident made up of the giant Dzyuba and the Brazilians Malcom and Claudinho.

Precisely, Claudinho, Olympic champion with Brazil, was the first to disturb the rival goal with a shot with his bad leg, his right, after a heel pass from the inseparable Malcom

Faced with the change in the ball’s trajectory, Szczesny had to work hard to avoid the goal after 18 minutes.

As the minutes passed, the Italians took control of the ball, but Morata barely got any balls. Perhaps because Zenit actually played with three centrals, with the Ukrainian Rakitsky as a false left back.

Chiesa, usually a roadrunner, barely had room to run and only tried with shots from outside the area, both very wide.

Very poor the first part of Vecchia Signora, who seemed to settle for a draw after winning the first two games of the “Champions”.

Allegri must have harangued his people, since his players came out much more connected. In the fifth minute a magnificent low pass to the back of Morata’s Russian defense left McKennie completely alone, but he could not overcome Kritsyuk in his desperate exit.

But the locals responded with a magnificent play by Claudinho, whose shot inside the box surpassed the Polish goalkeeper of Juventus and came out licking the left post of the visitor’s goal.

The transalpine coach lost his patience and made a triple change. All hopes rested on the Swede Kulusevski, who already left his mark on his class at the last European Championship.

Morata tried after a pass from Arthur, but his shot missed the door, the same as McKennie’s shot. The entry of Kean by the Spanish striker did not add bite to the visiting forward.

It had to be Kulusevski who broke the tables on the scoreboard shortly after the final whistle by combing a magnificent cross from the left by De Sciglio, a header that hit the post and burst into the local goal. (min.86)

The Russians blew the bugle in the final minutes, but Bonucci did not leave any loopholes and Juventus is approaching the round of 16 of the top continental competition with an immaculate record.
