Bad news for the Minnesota Twins as starter Kenta Maeda will undergo surgery on his right elbow on Wednesday that will put him out for the remainder of the season, manager Rocco Baldelli announced.
Although more details on the procedure are needed, it is expected that the mountaineer can avoid the Tommy John, an option that would make him miss the entire 2022 campaign.
Maeda said she started experiencing some discomfort at the end of April that never went away.
That may have been part of the reason for Maeda’s 4.66 ERA in 21 starts after finishing among the AL Cy Young finalists in 2020. (https://www.septimaentrada.com)
