Kevin Pillar has surgery and the Mets hope he will recover soon

It looks like Kevin Pillar will be able to return to the diamonds soon, after the ball he received in the face the previous week, as the New York Mets player underwent a nasal operation over the weekend.

The outfielder became a cause for great concern when he suffered several fractures to his nose the previous Monday, after a pitching by Jacob Webb (Atlanta Braves) hit him directly in the face, causing him to bleed immediately, and then he was taken to the hospital.

Kevin Pillar asked if he was in the lineup after the pitch. After that, and going through several days of observation, the player underwent surgery, and the team speculates that Pillar could start light baseball activities this week.

“We’ll see how he progresses and what he can do after surgery,” Mets manager Luis Rojas said. Pillar, who made it to the Metropolitans this season, is hitting .250 with 20 hits in 28 games, 10 runs scored and eight RBIs, with two home runs. (https://www.septimaentrada.com) (GG)
