Latvala stops Ogier and Dani Sordo gets on the podium

The Finn Jari-Matti Latvala (Volkswagen) achieved this Sunday the final victory in the Guanajuato-Mexico Rally, third round of the World Championship, after beating his teammate and winner of the first two rounds of the contest, the French Sebastien Ogier, and with the Spanish Dani Sordo (Hyundai) on the third step of the podium.
After a bad start to the championship with abandonment in Monte Carlo and a 26th place in Sweden, Latvala ended in Mexico his losing streak and the triumphant series of three-time world champion Ogier, winner in the first two races and surpassed by one minute and five seconds. Dani Sordo finished third, 3: 37.9 behind the winner.
The Finn from Volkswagen signed his sixteenth victory in the World Cup on Sunday and the first since that achieved in France last year.
Ogier had three consecutive wins: the 2015 Wales Rally and the first two rounds of the current championship. The Frenchman was the leader of the race in the second and third stages, but from there Latvala took the lead and did not relinquish the reins until the end.
