LeBron James renews with the Lakers for two seasons and 85 million

LeBron James has closed a two-year, $ 85 million renewal with the Los Angeles Lakers, his agent Rich Paul reported to The Athletic. This extension eliminates the player option that the forward had for the 2021-22 campaign worth 41 million, the result of the four-year signing carried out in 2018.

Following this new agreement, the four-time NBA champion will be subject to a contract until the end of the 2022-23 academic year, as journalist Shams Charania points out. Precisely the same year that his son, Bronny ends his stay in high school and could have the option to appear in the draft if the league and the NBPA do not change the current regulations.

James will turn 36 on December 30. When this new contract ends, he will have turned 38 and completed his twentieth season in the NBA. After being chosen MVP of the Finals for the fourth time and averaging 25.3 points, 7.8 rebounds and 10.2 assists during the regular season, everything indicates that he will extend his career beyond 2023 if he so wishes.

Meanwhile, in Los Angeles they continue to await the renewal of Anthony Davis, who had already confirmed that he would take this decision calmly to meditate on the duration of the new agreement. (GG) (NBA MANIACS)
