Llorente relapsed from his injury against Liverpool

Atlético de Madrid midfielder Marcos Llorente, who played the last ten minutes of the Champions League game against English Liverpool (2-3), suffered a muscle injury to his right thigh during his participation in the match.

After the game, the player “expressed discomfort to the club’s medical services in the same area where he had suffered his injury,” which verified this Wednesday after medical tests that “the scar from his previous injury had partially opened,” as reported the rojiblanco club on its website.

Llorente was injured against Barcelona on October 2, an ailment that prevented him from participating in the final phase of the League of Nations with the Spanish team.

Against Liverpool, he entered in the 80th minute to try to overcome the 2-3 adverse after the goal scored three minutes earlier by the Egyptian Mohamed Salah from a penalty.

The Madrid midfielder will begin this Wednesday medical and physiotherapy treatment and then resume the rehabilitation process. “His return to competition is pending evolution,” added the club in the medical report.

Llorente’s relapse comes at a time of great demand for the rojiblanco team, which has five games ahead in the next 18 days.

On Sunday 24 he will receive Real Sociedad at the Wanda Metropolitano, on Thursday 28 he will visit Valencia, on Sunday 31 he will receive Betis, on Wednesday 3 November he will again face Liverpool at Anfield and will end this cycle by visiting Valencia at Mestalla before the November national team match stoppage.
