López swept Termas de Río Hondo

The Córdoba-born José María López (C-Elysée) had an overwhelming passage through the Termas de Río Hondo racetrack, where he won the two finals that he played in the World Touring Car Championship (WTCC) within the framework of the eighth date of his calendar.
The second of those victories was even achieved by advancing from the starting tenth place, after winning from end to end and categorically in the first final, in which he started in the lead.
It was a dream weekend for «Pechito», who only got off from the top of the classifier in the second training session and who left the Santiago track with a not inconsiderable difference of 60 points with respect to his escort in the championship, the French Yvan Muller, with four dates ahead.
With a perfect start in the first final, the Cordovan firmly defended his pole position on Saturday, almost half a second behind Muller, the last division champion.
Then, he went through the 13 laps of competition without major problems to add his sixth success of the season, escorted by the Hungarian Norbert Michelisz (Honda) and Muller.
According to the grid inversion system implemented by the category, López had to start tenth in the second final and from the very beginning of the test he showed that he was going to go in search of the first step of the podium again.
In just half the competition, López accounted for Muller, Loeb, Michelisz, Hugo Valente, Tom Chilton, Tiago Monteiro and Gabriel Tarquini, and was at the tail of Robert Huff’s Lada, who commanded the starting platoon.
