Major League Baseball announced that the 2020 All-Star Game, scheduled to take place in Los Angeles, has been canceled due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The 2020 All-Star Game, “which was to be hosted by the Dodgers and the city of Los Angeles, is being canceled,” the league said in a statement.
Because the organization for the 2021 All-Star Game had already been awarded to the Atlanta Braves, the Dodgers will now host the game in 2022, Major League Baseball explained.
The 2020 game date was pending confirmation as part of the restructuring of the season that baseball has had to face due to the pandemic.
The season, which failed to start as planned on March 26, is now scheduled to begin on July 23 or 24 with a schedule shortened to 60 games. AFP (HN)
