Manhole cover damages Williams and Azerbaijan GP training is suspended

The first free practice session of the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, which takes place on the Baku street circuit, was quickly called off after a manhole cover came loose, damaging Britain’s George Russell’s Williams.

The session will not be resumed due to the fact that the state of all the sewer covers that the 6,003 kilometer route will present will be reviewed. The second round of training is scheduled at 1:00 p.m. GMT.

Before the suspension, only the Ferraris did a few timed laps, five by the Monegasque Charles Leclerc and four by the German Sebastian Vettel.
