Marc Márquez achieves his fourth consecutive pole at Silverstone

The Spanish Marc Márquez (Honda) signed the fourth consecutive pole in MotoGP, at the British Grand Prix, also setting the record at the Silverstone circuit.

The leader of the World Championship, winner of three great prizes this season, set a time of 1 minute 59 seconds and 941 thousandths, the first in history to fall below two minutes. Márquez beat Italian Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) by less than one tenth.

The British Cal Crutchlow (LCR Honda), who had been the dominator of the free trials before his audience, completed the first row, 165 thousandths behind. AFP
