Matz (1-1) pitched seven full innings, allowed three hits, walked two and retired nine opponents via strikeout to earn the win.
The Mets’ four pitchers combined for 15 strikeouts.
Outfielder Michael Conforto and second baseman Lucas Duda each drove in two runs in support of Matz’s work.
