The Honduran Mauricio Dubón had four at-bats last Sunday in the new loss of the San Francisco Giants against the Oakland Athletics where he connected two singles in three points, since he reached base once on balls.
The Sampedrano started flying to left field in the third inning, while in the fifth he reached on balls. His hits came in the seventh and ninth innings, both to left field, but he failed to score in another painful loss for his team at home.
Dubon’s numbers rose to .250 percentage in 20 games, 56 official at-bats and 14 hits, including a home run and a double. He has pushed in and scored six runs, reached on base twice, struck out thirteen times and stole a base.
Pitching punished by Atléticos
With home runs by Stephen Piscotty, Chad Pinder and Marcus Semien during a nine-run offense in the fifth inning, the Oakland Athletics beat the San Francisco Giants 15-3 Sunday for their fourth straight victory.
Piscotty equaled his career high with five RBIs as the A’s, which have the best record in the American League, posted their 13th win in 15 games.
Pinder’s two-run homer at designated hitter made it 4-2. Mark Canha added a two-run triple, Piscotty added to the attack with a three-run hit and Semien with a two-run homer to extend the lead 11-2.
Pinder had his third career designated homerun and his first since Aug. 3, 2019, against St. Louis. Piscotty added a two-score double in the sixth inning.
Oakland gave Mike Fiers (2-1) plenty of offensive backup in his fifth start as the 35-year-old right-hander improved to 4-1. He struck out four over six innings and received two runs and seven hits.
Atlético’s bats (16-6) beat Giants’ bats once again to sweep the series.
Right-hander Logan Webb (1-2) struck out five in 4 1/3 innings Sunday but allowed five walks. (GG) (Taken Giants SF)
