Mauricio Dubón shines despite Giants defeat

Despite the fact that the San Francisco Giants added another defeat in the short 2020 season, Honduran Mauricio Dubón excelled at hitting and fielding with excellent pitches in center field and with a three-run producer four-corner hit.

Dubón started again in center field, where it is not usual to see him, but apparently the change inspires and motivates him despite not having the complete confidence of his manager Gabe Kapler, who has inexplicably sat him down on a few occasions.

Despite the above, he made the spectacular catch of the day, hitting a powerful hit to center field from former Dodgers batter Matt Kemp, stealing a possible home run at the height of the second inning.

In his first at-bats he didn’t go beyond a couple of grounders, the first to third baseman Nolan Arenado in the third inning and then to shortstop Chris Owings in the fifth, but in the seventh he dispatched a tremendous three-run homer to pitcher Kyle. Freeland, taking Pablo Sandoval and Chadwick Tromp to the register and putting the score in favor of the Giants, 3-1, but the Rockies playing at home turned the scoreboard and ended up winning 6-4.

Dubón in the ninth hit another hit to left field, but his teammate Austn Slater hit for a double play, thus ending the game with another defeat for the Giants, but with an outstanding performance from the Honduran.
