May 30 Teofimo López will fight for world lightweight title

The boxing specialized site Boxing Updates announced this day that the Honduran Teofimo López will face the Ukrainian, Vasyl Lomachenko on May 30 for the world lightweight title of the World Boxing Organization, World Federation and World Council.

The fight will take place at Madison Square Garden in New York, where the catracho was crowned champion on December 14 by knocking out Richard Commey from Ghana. Until a few days ago, the place of the contest was unknown, it was even possible that it could take place on Asian soil.

López was born in Brooklyn to Honduran parents and he was the one who asked Lomachenko to fight, who has already fought four times at Madison Square Garden.
