Meeke leads with 45.3 seconds over Ogier

The British Chris Meeke (Citroen) faces this Sunday as leader the last day of the Rally de Portugal, fifth round of the World Championship, with 45.3 seconds ahead of the champion, the Frenchman Sebastien Ogier (Volkswagen), while the Spanish Dani Sordo (Hyundai) retains the fourth place.
Meeke, who returns to the World Cup after missing the last two tests, won the three morning stages and was distancing Ogier, world champion for the last three years, who came to be more than a minute away.
Norway’s Andreas Mikkelsen (Volkswagen) is in third place, 48.4 seconds behind the leader, and Sordo, who suffered a puncture to his left front wheel in the opening stage of the day, is fourth, 1: 20.1 behind Meeke.
Mikkelsen carried out an aggressive tactic that allowed him to overtake Sordo and get very close to Ogier, who acknowledged that it had been “a terrible afternoon” for him. EFE
