The Mexican Juan Francisco Estrada, flyweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) and the World Boxing Organization (WBO), will expose both titles tomorrow to his compatriot Giovani Segura in this capital.
Both fighters are considered among the best fighters in the division worldwide and on Saturday, in a 12-round match, they will try to demonstrate it at the Arena Ciudad de México in a classic fight between a stylist (Estrada) and a fajador ( Safe).
The 26-year-old Estrada, who is nicknamed the “Gallo”, comes to the fight with 26 wins, 19 before the limit, and two losses, while Segura, 32, known as the “Warrior”, registers 32 wins, 28 on the fast track, three defeats and a draw.
Estrada’s advantage is in his youth and in his boxing style that combines defense and attack with good punching, while Segura has experience and a strong punch in his favor, but it is difficult for him to defend himself.
An even fight is anticipated and due to the characteristics of both it can end before the limit.
In the performance, the Mexican Jackie Nava, WBA champion and the Jamaican Alicia Ashley, the WBC monarch, will star in a unifying fight for their super bantamweight championships.
Nava, called the “Aztec Princess”, has a record of 29 wins, 13 by knockout, four losses and three draws, while Alicia “Slick” Ashley has 21 wins, three before the limit, nine losses and one draw.
