AC Milan announced the “temporary” suspension of ticket sales for its three Champions League matches and promised to re-evaluate ticket prices for Champions League matches downward, following protests from its’ tifosi ‘.
Returning to the Champions League after seven years of absence, the ‘rossonero’ club put the first tickets on sale this week, with prices much higher than those of Inter Milan for their respective matches. They both play in the same stadium, San Siro.
An entry in one of the curves for example for AC Milan-Atlético de Madrid on September 28 cost more than double that in the same place for Inter Milan-Real Madrid (September 15): 119 euros (141 dollars) against 48 euros (57 dollars).
“I understood your concerns and we have re-evaluated our decision, we will adjust the rates,” said Milan general manager Ivan Gazidis, on the club’s website, announcing that the sale is “suspended” for the time being.
