Mookie Betts signs 12-year, $ 350 million with Dodgers

Mookie Betts has signed a $ 350 million, 12-year extension with the Los Angeles Dodgers, Major League Baseball sources confirmed.

Mookie Betts was going to top the free agency roster in 2021, but the Dodgers decided to retain him once and for all with one of the biggest extensions of the decade for an MLB player. This extension is the largest in the history of the Dodgers franchise.

Mookie Betts was acquired from the Boston Red Sox by the Los Angeles Dodgers, along with left-hander David Price, in a mega negotiation between the two teams. In exchange, the Dodgers sent Alex Verdugo and prospect Jeter Downs to Boston.

Before moving to Los Angeles, Betts turned down a 10-year, $ 300 million extension offer from the Patirrojos. Betts, 27, is considered one of the best players in the major leagues today. He is a hitter with a lot of power, speed and a majestic defense.

Mookie Betts’ skills have led him to win the World Series in 2018, be the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the American League; win four Gold Gloves as a rightfielder, a batting title, 3 silver bats and be a 4-time All-Star. (GG) (Taken from El Fildeo.com)
