Nani Roma will participate in the Inca Challenge in the dunes of Peru

The Spanish pilot Nani Roma announced his participation, at the head of the Mini team, in the Dakar Series “Desafío Inca” Rally next September to be held in the dunes in southern Peru, the organizers reported today.
The last champion of the Dakar Rally in Cars will join the competition as well as the Chilean Ignacio Casale, winner in Quads of the Dakar Rally held at the beginning of the year.
“Our goal is always victory. The important thing is to have a good race, compete well and try to fight to achieve our goal. We arrived with the desire to win the victory, “said Roma in a press release from Amaury Sport Organization (ASO).
The Inca Challenge will be run between September 11 and 14 in the dunes of the desert region of Ica, south of Lima, an area that was on the route of the Dakar Rally in 2012 and 2013.
“The Inca Challenge is very important for our preparation for the next Dakar Rally because there are many dunes, a lot of sand and it is difficult to find races that are all dunes,” said the Spanish driver.
“Therefore, being able to race on this type of terrain, in difficult stages, open desert, I think it is a very good training for us to try new things for the car and it is very interesting to be there,” added Roma.
The second edition of the “Inca Challenge” will have three stages and more than 1,000 kilometers of route for participants in the motorcycle, ATV and car categories.
On September 11, the departure will be given and the technical review of the vehicles of the participants from about 10 countries will be carried out, while the next three days will be racing.
The winners and the best rookie in the case of Peru of each category motorcycles, ATVs and cars are given a free pass for the Dakar 2015.
Among the Peruvian drivers who will compete in the “Inca Challenge” are the five-time national rally champion, Nicolás Fuch, as well as Ignacio Flores, Felipe Ríos and Eduardo Heinrich.
