NBA rescinds technical fouls to Draymond Green and Nené

The NBA rescinded the double technical fouls of Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors and Brazilian Nené of the Houston Rockets, declared Tuesday during the second game of the Western Conference semifinals.

Golden State contacted the league to consider the measures.

Through Twitter, the NBA noted that both fouls were rescinded “after being reviewed by the league office.”

It’s an important decision for Green in case the two-time defending champions return to a lengthy postseason. The Warriors lead the series 2-0 to win four of seven games against the Rockets heading into Game 3 on Saturday in Houston.

Now that he has one technical foul down, Green’s postseason total has returned to three. Any player who reaches seven is entitled to an automatic suspension.

“I’m glad to hear it. It’s okay, ”Green said after practice Thursday before the team traveled to Texas. “It helps me, a lot.”

Green and Nené were entangled and scored a double technique with a second remaining in the third period of the Warriors’ 115-109 win after James Harden made three free throws.

Warriors coach Steve Kerr insisted it was just an intense play and he didn’t think any of them deserved a technique.

When asked if there should be a rule change and restart technical foul counting with each playoff round, Green replied, “I think that’s a rule that’s been in place for so long and it’s one of those things that never You think it’s going to affect you, until it affects you, and that’s when everyone talks about it. Obviously, I’m in favor, but that’s my opinion ”. AP
