New Celtics triumph with Tatum;  Juancho Hernangómez stands out without triumph

The Boston Celtics knew the victory for the second consecutive day in the Summer League of the NBA, with rookie forward Jayson Tatum a reference in his offensive game.

Spanish forward Juancho Hernangómez once again stood out and was the second top scorer for the Denver Nuggets, although they could not get the victory and are 0-2 so far in the competition.

Although he was not the leading scorer, Tatum, third selected in the last university draw, did become the figure on which the game of the Celtics turned, who beat the Portland Trail Blazers 70-64.

Tatum played minutes in consecutive games and contributed 11 points (4-11, 0-0, 3-3), captured seven rebounds – all defensive -, gave an assist and lost a ball.

Forward Jaylen Brown, 20, his second season with the team, confirmed that he understands perfectly with Tatum, his new teammate, and was the Celtics’ leading scorer with 13 points. He caught eight balls under the hoops, including six defenders.

The victory allowed the Celtics to have a perfect 2-0 record so far in the competition.

The youngest of the Hernangómez brothers was better at the individual level, who contributed 18 points and seven rebounds, but the Nuggets lost again, this time 71-90 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.

Hernangómez maintained consistency in all facets of the game, even improving his control of the ball, although he still lost four balls.

But the young Spanish player, who spent 29 minutes on the court, scored 6 of 15 shots from the field, including 3 of 7 triples, and hit 3-3 from the personnel line.

The guard Malik Beasley again understood perfectly with Hernangómez and repeated as the leading scorer of the Nuggets with 20 points, but the rest of his teammates did not have the same efficiency and consistency.

In other results of the day, the Dallas Mavericks beat the Phoenix Suns 88-77, the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Utah Jazz 86-67 and the San Antonio Spurs beat the Philadelphia Sixers 101-95. EFE
