Newcastle begins renovation with the departure of Steve Bruce

Newcastle United confirmed Steve Bruce’s departure as team manager, marking the Saudi fund’s first major decision since buying the club.

“Newcastle can confirm that Steve Bruce leaves office by mutual agreement,” said the English team in a statement, confirming the departure of Bruce after more than two years in office, in which he finished thirteenth and twelfth in the Premier League.

However, right now the team is second to last with three points after eight games, which has precipitated the departure of Bruce, who last weekend, in the defeat against Tottenham Hotspur, completed his 1,000th career match.

“I am very grateful to Newcastle for giving me the opportunity to lead this club. I would like to thank my coaching staff, the players and all the workers for this time for their great effort. There have been ups and downs, but they have always given their all and they have to be proud, “explained Bruce.

“This is a club with a great mass of fans and I hope that the new owners can take it forward and position it where we all want it to be,” he added. EFE (HN)
