Pitcher Jake Odorizzi and slugger Hank Conger joined forces Tuesday in the Major Leagues to lead the Tampa Bay Rays to a 4-3 road victory over the Miami Marlins.
Odorizzi (2-2), who also drove in one run, allowed only two hits in five scoreless innings and Conger dispatched a two-run single that ultimately proved decisive.
Slugger Logan Morrison, a ´former marlin´, had three hits for the Rays, who thus split this series 1-1.
Gunner Giancarlo Stanton hit his 12th home run for the Marlins in the midst of their losing streak that now extends to just six hits in 57 at-bats. (AFP).
