Orioles snap 14-game losing streak

BALTIMORE (AP) – Cedric Mullins had two hits, scored a few times and made a terrific catch in center field as the Baltimore Orioles snapped a 14-game losing streak with a 7-4 win over the Minnesota Twins on Tuesday night.

Dominicans Pedro Severino and Maikel Franco each had home runs for the Orioles, who also snapped a 16-game losing streak against Minnesota.

Bruce Zimmermann (3-3) allowed two runs and six hits in 5 1/3 innings. He struck out seven, the highest number in his career.

The Orioles used four relievers.

Cole Sulser went through the ninth inning to get his first save of the season. He allowed the potential tying run to reach the batter’s box with one out, before striking out Alex Kirilloff and retiring Jorge Polanco with a balloon.

Polanco came close to hitting a home run on his turn, but the ball barely drifted foul.

The loss went to Michael Pineda (3-3), who allowed five runs and seven hits in three innings. (GG) (AP)
