Ovince St. Preux will be Jon Jones’ rival

North American Ovince St. Preux will replace UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier against Jon Jones in the main fight of the UFC 197 event on Saturday, April 23 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Through his Twitter account, the president of the UFC, Dana White, announced that this fight will be for the interim 205-pound title.
Following Cormier’s departure with a left leg injury, the organization decided to face St. Preux with ‘Bones’ Jones, who returns to the Octagon after being out of action for 15 months.
Meanwhile, St. Preux comes to this fight after a victory against Rafael Cavalcante at UFC Fight Night 82, in February of this year.
In the UFC 197 co-stars match, bantamweight champion Demetrious Johnson will defend his belt against Olympic medalist Henry Cejudo.
In the same evening, Anthony Pettis will have a difficult challenge against Edson Barboza and the winner of the first TUF Latin America Yair Rodríguez will face André Fili.
UFC 197 will take place on Saturday, April 23, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. All matches will be broadcast exclusively on the UFC Network. (Courtesy of Trome.pe).
