Özil wants to play in Turkey and the United States before retiring

Arsenal’s German midfielder Mesut Özil, who has not played for his club since March, wants to try Turkish and American football before retiring, he said in an interview via Twitter.

Six months after the end of his contract with the London team, the 32-year-old 2014 world champion underwent a question and answer session on the social network.

“Of course I will continue, there are two countries in which I would like to play football before I retire, Turkey and the United States,” he said.

“If I go to Turkey, it could only be to Fenerbahçe,” he said about the Istanbul club he was a fan of during his childhood in Germany, where he was born, the son of Turkish parents.
