Pacquiao wants to show that he can combine boxing and politics

Manny Pacquiao, a world champion welterweight champion of the World Boxing Organization (WBO), from the Philippines, stressed that his fight against unbeaten Jeff Horn on July 2 in Brisbane shows that he can combine boxing and politics.
“I want to defend my crown and prove that I am still in boxing, despite my ambitions as a senator,” Pacquiao told reporters on a visit to Australia to promote the fight.
“I’m not done with boxing yet,” said the 38-year-old Filipino.
Pacquiao achieved his first title in the flyweight category (50 kg) two weeks before his 20th anniversary in December 1998, beginning a long career in which he was proclaimed champion eight times.
«Boxing is my passion. I started when I was young, it is part of my life. It depends on how you train and prepare yourself. It’s a matter of discipline, “said the Filipino.
38-year-old “Pac-Man” reappeared on November 5, seven months after announcing his retirement after his loss in the disappointing “fight of the century” against Floyd Mayweather.
In the absence of an agreement for a rematch, he faced and beat Mexican-American Jesse Vargas to regain the WBO welterweight title.
“I’m not going to predict the fight, but I will do my best to entertain the fans,” said Pacquiao.
The Filipino has achieved 59 victories in 67 fights, while Horn has obtained 16 victories and one void.
“I don’t know much about him (Horn), but I know he’s a fighter. I have not seen his matches yet but I am going to see his last three, “concluded Pacquiao. AFP
