Palmer wins first GP2 race in Monaco

The British Jolyon Palmer (Dams), leader of the GP2 series world championship, took victory in the first race of the Monaco Grand Prix of the category, in which the Spanish Sergio Canamasas (Trident) was fifth and the Argentine Facu Regalia (Hilmer) had to drop out due to engine problems.
INTERPalmer won an eventful race, with three safety car starts, the first when the first lap had barely been completed, due to Argentinian Regalia’s car stopping.
Although the New Zealander Mitch Evans (Russian Time) snatched the first position from Palmer at the start, the Briton managed to catch up with his opponent, before the red flag was declared on the track for an accident at the Mirabeau corner, in which the Austrian Rene Binder and Brazilian André Negrao, both from the Arden team, collided with each other, a collision that Russian Artem Markelov (Russian Time) could not avoid from behind.
