‘Pechito’ López achieves ‘pole’ in the Nordschleife

The Argentine José María López (Citroen C-Elysee) achieved this Friday the best time in the qualifying session for the fifth round of the World Touring Car, which takes place on the legendary German Nordschleife.
In this way, ‘Pechito’ López, who signed a time of 8: 35.541, will start from the ‘pole’ in the main race this Saturday (12.45) over three laps of the 25,378 kilometer German track.
The two-time Argentine world champion will be accompanied in the front row by his teammate, Frenchman Yvan Muller.
From the second, the Dutch Tom Coronel (Chevrolet RML Cruze) and the Hungarian Norbert Michelisz (Honda Civic) will start.
In the opening race (11.20) at the Nüburgring the pole was for the Portuguese Tiago Monteiro (HOnda Civic), tenth in the qualifying session. By reversing the order in its top ten places for this heat, 0’Pechi ‘López will start from tenth place.
