Chilean Manuel Pellegrini, coach of Betis, did not hide his satisfaction with the qualification of his team for the Europa League, an award that he considered “fair” for the season carried out by his team, who closed LaLiga Santander with an epic comeback in Balaídos against the Celtic.
“The feeling is very happy, the group deserved this. They made us 32 goals in the first round, but in December there was a reaction from all of them. It is to raise a statue to this group, who fought in bad times, “said the Chilean coach at a press conference.
He highlighted the “reaction capacity” of his players to lift Celta 2-0, and insisted that “the union” of the group has been decisive in overcoming the bad moments experienced during the course and reaching a European place.
“In the first half Celta hit us with a penalty and then with his first shot in the second half. But we continue to believe and we have ended up raising a 2-0, there you can see the confidence of a group that even endured with one player less the result until the end ”, said Pellegrini. EFE. (JL).
