French world champion goalkeeper Alphonse Areola, with no options to start at Paris SG against Gianluigi Donnarumma and Keylor Navas, will play on loan for a season at English West Ham, the two clubs announced on Thursday.
“The 28-year-old goalkeeper will play for West Ham United, a Premier League team, until June 30, 2022. The loan includes a purchase option,” the Parisian club explained in a statement.
With a contract until 2023 with PSG, the goalkeeper, who played for Real Madrid for one season (2019-2020), will continue like this in London since last season he defended the colors of Fulham, which was relegated to the second division.
West Ham will be the sixth club in which Areola plays on loan, who will fight for the title with Polish veteran Lukasz Fabianski (36 years old). (AFP)
