Finn Kimi Räikkönen (Ferrari) ran over one of his mechanics, tasked with changing the left rear wheel of his car in his second pit stop, during the Bahrain Grand Prix, and immediately left the race.
“Apparently, it is a fracture of the tibia and fibula,” Ferrari said in a tweet after the race. «Our memories are with Francesco. Be strong”.

The race stewards are investigating the incident.
As he was about to leave the pits, the Finn did not realize that one of the Ferrari mechanics had not finished his work and accelerated, hitting the wheel on his left leg. He immediately received signals from the other members of the Italian team to stop.
Räikkönen was then third behind his teammate, the German Sebastian Vettel, and his compatriot Valtteri Bottas (Mercedes). Briton Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) was fourth.
Before the Ferrari driver, the Red Bulls of the Dutchman Max Verstappen, after a touch with Hamilton, and Daniel Ricciardo, who suffered a breakdown, also had to withdraw. AFP
