Raúl Curiel turns professional under the tutelage of his idol Oscar de la Hoya

Super welterweight Raúl Curiel, a Mexican card at the last Olympic Games, will begin his professional career under the tutelage of his idol Oscar de la Hoya, announced today the company Golden Boy, of which he was champion in six different divisions.
Curiel, 21, won the 2015 World Series of Boxing and because of his talent is seen as a serious candidate for world champion.
“This is a very important step in my personal and sports life and I promise that I will move forward with the help of everyone, especially Oscar de la Hoya, my idol,” said the young man born in Ciudad Madero, Tamaulipas state.
The promising youngster began her career at the age of 15 and, according to De La Hoya, “had a stellar amateur career that included winning the outstanding award in international competitions.”
Curiel is the third Mexican amateur boxer to attend the 2016 Rio de Janeiro Olympic Games and to embark on the path of professionalism. The first was Misael Rodríguez and the second was Joselito Velázquez. EFE
