Briton Rob Huff (Honda Civic) achieved victory this Sunday in the main race of the fourth round of the World Touring Car (WTCC), held at the Moulay El Hassan circuit in Maraquech.
Huff, champion in 2012, broke in Marrakech and in the rain the streak of three consecutive wins in the main races of Argentine José María López (Citroen C-Elyssée), this time fourth.
The Briton prevailed ahead of Hungarian Norbert Michelisz and Portuguese Tiago Monteiro to complete Honda’s treble in Morocco. ‘Pechito’ López this time stayed one step away from the podium, in the same position where he started.
Before, in the opening race, the Dutch Tom Coronel (Chevrolet RML Cruze TC1) won, ahead of ‘Pechito’ López, world champion the last two years, and the four-time French champion Yvan Muller (Citroen C-Elysée).
After these results, Pechito López remains the leader of the general classification with 138 points. They are followed by Monteiro, with 124, and Huff, with 98. The WTCC resumes on May 28 at the German Nürburgring. EFE
