Robert Kubica returns to shoot with a Renault team F1 in Cheste
The Polish driver Robert Kubica has returned to rolling this Tuesday with a Formula One car of the Renault Sport team at the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Cheste (Valencia), more than six years after he did it for the last time as a result of a serious accident.
The Enstone team has published on its Twitter account a video and some photos in which the Polish driver appears, who suffered a serious car accident in a test of rally in February 2011 that removed him from the circuits.
In this Tuesday’s test the Polish driver, who participated in 78 Formula One Grand Prix, has been at the wheel of a 2012 single-seater, the E20, the latest model to equip an eight-cylinder engine in F1.
Kubica debuted in Formula One in 2006 in the BMW Sauber team in which until 2009 and later he signed for Renault, with which he competed in 2010. Although he was confirmed for the 2011 season by Renault, the German Nick Heidfeld had to take his place when suffering the accident one month before the start of the season.
Until September 2012 Kubica did not compete with a car again, but did so in a rally in Italy. Since then, the Krakow driver has raced with different cars, including those of the World Championship. Rally WRC2, with Citroen.
The Renault team has only published a video of the car passed through the Ricardo Tormo home straight and three photos, two of them of the car on the Valencian track and another in which they appreciate Kubica putting on his helmet.
The Cheste circuit was already the scene in January 2013 of a test by Robert Kubica with a DTM Mercedes, with which he gave 114 laps of the Valencian Community circuit. EFE
