Roger Federer doubts his presence at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics

Roger Federer says he will decide soon if he will play in the Tokyo Olympics next year.

Federer said his schedule is set until the end of Wimbledon on July 12. The Olympic tournament kicks off on July 25 and ends a few days before his 39th birthday.

Speaking to Swiss television ahead of the Laver Cup team competition, Federer said he is “very excited about the possibility” of playing in Tokyo. “I have to see how the family is, how my body feels.”

Federer has participated in four Olympics. He met his wife at the Sydney Olympics in 2000 and has twice been the flag bearer of the Swiss delegation to the games.

Federer won gold along with Stan Wawrinka in Beijing in 2008 and silver in singles in 2012 in London. He did not participate in Rio 2016 due to injuries. AP
