Romanian Simona Halep snatched lead from Wozniacki

The Romanian Simona Halep has returned to the number one position in the WTA ranking after snatching the lead from the Danish Caroline Wozniacki who, after being defeated in the quarterfinals in Saint Petersburg and in the semifinals in Doha, failed to add the amount of points needed to stay on top of world women’s tennis.
The most significant change in the standings has been the Belgian Alison Van Uytvanck, who became champion at the Hungarian Open by beating Slovak Dominika Cibulkova in the final, rising 30 positions and reaching 50th place.
There are little significant changes among the top ten. The Spanish Garbiñe Muguruza maintained the third position; while the Czech Petra Kvitova rose to eighth place from which she displaced the German Angelique Kerber.
