The Lisbon city council announced today the inspection of the apartment that Cristiano Ronaldo acquired in the center of the Portuguese capital, allegedly for having carried out works without the consent of the municipal chamber.
The soccer star bought the apartment, according to local media, for 7.2 million euros in one of the most expensive residential areas of the Portuguese capital.
The inspection comes after Georgina Rodríguez, the footballer’s partner, published a video recorded of the property’s terrace in which local media observed a metal structure outside the original project.
The 288-square-meter flat, located opposite Eduardo VII Park, has a spa, movie theater, indoor and outdoor pools, and a terrace from which you can see the Tagus River and the entire city.
The inspection will verify whether any alterations have been made with respect to the project approved by the city council, which has confirmed that after 2020 no change has been requested in the project signed by the architect Jose Mateus.
The supposedly unapproved works would correspond to a metal structure built on the roof of the house.
In statements to local media, the mayor of Lisbon, Fernando Medina, has explained that, since there is no complaint, the house has not been inspected so far, so it is not yet known what exactly has been done, and has assured that if true, “it will be regularized in accordance with the law.”
For his part, Mateus described the news through his social networks as a “lack of respect” that has been carried out “without the consent of architects, neighbors and without an approved project.” EFE. (JL).
