Mercedes driver Nico Rosberg assured his rivals that “Red Bull seems to be getting better and better” and said “Ferrari has not yet shown what they can do.”
The German driver has managed to win the three grands prix that have been disputed so far and is the leader in the general classification of the Formula One World Championship.
Although he is aware that he has “a bit of an advantage” over his rivals, the 30-year-old is cautious.
“Only three bad races on our part and it would only take one weekend for the advantage to disappear,” he said in a statement from his team.
Rosberg acknowledged that Lewis Hamilton remains his “point of reference, as he is the current champion” and made it clear that he is going little by little.
“I’m taking things race by race, focusing on doing my thing and getting the job according to my ability. This approach has worked well for me so far, ”he said.
For his part, Lewis Hamilton highlighted the “confidence” he has in his team and assured that “a lot can happen in the next eighteen weekends.”
Hamilton is optimistic despite not having achieved any victories so far. “Experience has taught me to stay calm,” he said.
The three-time world champion arrives at the race this Sunday, in Russia, with great enthusiasm since it is a track where he has achieved victory on two occasions. “It’s a track where I adapt very well, so let’s see what we can do there,” he concluded. EFE
