Rossi: «If I can’t be in Aragon, I’ll try to be in Motegi»

The Italian Valentino Rossi (Yamaha YZR M 1), absent from the San Marino Grand Prix due to a fracture of the tibia and fibula in his right leg, declared on the World Championship website that if he cannot be in the next MotoGP race, the Aragon Grand Prix, will try to run in the next one, that of Japan.

Rossi explains in an interview with motogp.com how the accident was: “I was doing enduro with my friends, taking a ride near Urbino, in the countryside, on a route that I have done with my father since I was 18 years old. Unfortunately, very close to the end, on a descent, very slowly, I hit a rock, lost my balance and, to avoid falling, I put my foot on the ground, but it was downhill and the whole weight of the bike fell on the leg, ”explains Rossi.

«The leg hurts, but in general I feel good. It is much worse on a mental level, because it is a great shame to lose all the championship options and also not be in the home race, in front of all my fans. This is going as it is and I have to work now to get back as soon as possible, ”says the Italian rider.

“We are racing drivers and the best training is to ride motorcycles. But, unfortunately, riding a motorcycle is dangerous and we have to train because it is very important. Unfortunately this year I have suffered this type of mishap twice and we need to do it (train) in a different way, “acknowledged Rossi.

«From the other time I learned that in this type of situation you have to go day by day and it will depend on how the leg is doing and the pain, but we will work to return as soon as possible. After Misano it is the Aragon race, but it is very hard to be there because it will only have been 22 days since I was injured. It’s only three weeks and we need twice as much, or at least forty days, ”explains Rossi on motoGP.com.

«The last time I came back after 40 days, but now the fracture is less bad, less painful; It is too early to say, but if I cannot be in Aragon, I will try to be in Motegi », stressed the Italian. EFE
