The 33-year-old Portuguese goalkeeper Rui Patricio, the first signing of José Mourinho, the new coach of AS Roma, has signed a three-year contract as planned, the Italian club announced on Wednesday.

The Wolverhampton goalkeeper, a 97-time international and winner of Euro 2016, arrived in Rome on Tuesday to undergo a medical examination. The amount of his transfer may reach “11.5 million euros, including bonuses,” said the club in a statement.

The goalkeeper should receive 2 million euros (2.3 million dollars) per season, until June 2024, according to the Italian press. His first words were for his compatriot Mourinho, who in his opinion is “one of the best coaches in the world.”
