Povetkin won the Olympic title by defeating Mohamed Aly of Egypt in the 2004 final in Athens and made his professional debut less than a year later. In his twenty-ninth fight he defeated Uzbek Ruslan Chagaev and won the World Boxing Association belt.
And he has 31 victories and only one loss, against the Ukrainian Wladimir Klitschko, in 2013.
