This year’s edition of the Sao Paulo International Auto Show, which will take place between November 10 and 20, expects to leave tourism in the largest Brazilian city about 280 million reais (about 77.2 million dollars), the organizers reported today.
The organization of the event, which will leave the traditional Anhembí Convention Center after 46 years to go to the new Sao Paulo Expo, indicated that the automobile fair will also generate more than 30,000 direct and indirect jobs.
This year, in addition, the Auto Show will be held in the same week as the Brazilian Grand Prix of the Formula One World Motor Racing Championship and coincides with the Proclamation of the Republic holiday, on November 15.
The president of the Association of Manufacturers of Motor Vehicles (Anfavea) of Brazil, Luiz Moan, highlighted that one of the reasons for the change of installation was to offer greater comfort to visitors, such as an air conditioning system throughout the premises, that was not had in the previous editions of the fair.
The brands confirmed to expose the novelties of their vehicles are Volkswagen, Chevrolet, Ford, Troller, Fiat, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Kia, Honda, Mercedes-Benz, Audi, Renault, Nissan, Mitsubishi, Toyota, Lexus, Land Rover, Jaguar, Hyundai, Suzuki, Peugeot, Citroën, Porsche, Subaru, BMW and Mini.
GL Eventos, concessionaire for thirty years of the fair, indicated that 300 million reais (about 82.7 million dollars) will be invested to adapt the new premises.
The Sao Paulo Expo, which will be fully delivered in May, will have 110,000 square meters of total construction, 90,000 of which are in the internal area and a parking lot for 6,000 cars.
The Sao Paulo International Motor Show, which takes place every two years, received in the last edition, that of 2014, about 750,000 visitors, which confirms the Brazilian event as the fifth of its kind in the world, after the from Paris, Frankfurt (Germany), Detroit (United States) and Tokyo. EFE
