Serena leads, Sharapova the escort and Wozniacki ascends

The Danish Caroline Wozniacki consolidates herself in fifth place in the WTA world ranking with her victory in the Kuala Lumpur tournament, which allows her to open a little more the gap with her pursuer, the Serbian Ana Ivanovic.

Ahead of Wozniacki everything remains the same with Serena Williams, Maria Sharapova and Simona Halep on the podium.

The Swiss Timea Bacsinszky is on a roll and after winning the tournament in Acapulco (Mexico) the previous week, she has just won the one in Monterrey, also in Mexico, which allows her to take a new leap in the ranking and be the twenty-sixth.

The Spanish Carla Suárez remains in thirteenth place, waiting to be able to attack the privileged positions.
