The American Serena Williams gave up, 6-2, 3-6 and 10-5, to the Latvian Jelena Ostapenko in an exhibition match played this Saturday in Abu Dhabi, her first commitment since the final of the Australian Open that she won against her Sister Venus on January 28, 2017.

Serena Williams, who played that Grand Slam pregnant, had stayed away from the competition ever since.

When four months have not yet been completed since the birth of her daughter Alexis Olympia – on September 1 – Serena Williams reappeared with defeat.

He handed over the first set 6-2, reacted in the second but could not ensure his triumph in the tiebreaker, ten points behind, in the third set. “The first matches are always difficult, especially after being a mother,” the American, winner of 23 Grand Slam titles, commented at the foot of the court.
