Sergio Pérez: “If Aston Martin comes it will be something very nice”

The Mexican driver Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez (Force India), affirmed today in Sao Paulo that the eventual arrival of the luxury car brand Aston Martin to the Indian-British team for the next season “will be something very pleasant” for the interests of the team.
“If Aston comes, as a racing driver, it will be something very, very nice,” Pérez told reporters in the garages of the Interlagos Autodrome, which receives this Sunday the Brazilian Grand Prix, the penultimate race of the Formula One world championship that Briton Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes) has already won early.
With the eventual approach of Force India to “big manufacturers”, such as the British Aston Martin, Pérez added: “It is a great brand and we always try to be linked to great brands”.
«For next year we need a better budget. I believe in this team. I know the plans for 2016, so I think we are in a good position. I hope we can get the fifth place in the Constructors’ Championship, which is the priority of this weekend, “said the Mexican.
Pérez thus spoke about the chances of Force India, fifth in the Constructors’ World Championship with 112 points, to get the fourth position that the Austrian-British team Red Bull currently has, with sixty more units.
“If we finish fifth this year, do we have to finish fourth in 2016? That is the big question for us. The gap at this time is quite large, “he said.
Already the owner of the team, Vijay Mallya, had expressed days ago that he welcomed the arrival of Aston Martin and even stated that he would have no problem changing the name of the team in exchange for long-term benefits.
