Sharapova does not fail and advances to the quarterfinals

Russian Maria Sharapova, seeded number four at Wimbledon, defeated Kazakh Zarina Diyas today with a double 6-4, in one hour and 36 minutes, and advanced to the quarterfinals.
Sharapova, fourth racket on the WTA list, maintains her steady pace at La Catedral, where she has already eliminated, in addition to Diyas, the German Johanna Konta, the Dutch Richel Hogenkamp and the Romanian Irina-Camelia Begu.
In the quarterfinals, the Russian, winner in London in 2004, will face the American Coco Vadeweghe, who today beat the Czech Lucie Safarova 7-6(1) and 7-6(4), in one hour and 48 minutes.
Sharapova aspires to achieve her first Grand Slam of the season at the All England Tennis Club – she fell in the final of the Australian Open and in the fourth round of Roland Garros – and the first since 2014, when she was crowned champion on clay in Paris. EFE
