Venezuelan fighter Liborio Solis, former super fly champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA), said today that his “dream” is to regain the title he lost on the scale for his unifying fight against the Japanese Daiki Kameda, in Osaka (Japan) , Last December.
“My dream is to regain the title this year with the favor of God as long as they give me the opportunity,” said Solis at a press conference announcing the fight he will play this weekend in Panama against Colombian Alex Olea, agreed to eight rounds at 122 pounds (55.3 kilos).
Solis, who was champion of 115 pounds (52.2 kilos), said he is focused on this purpose and that any obstacle or rival that crosses his path thinks “destroy as quickly as possible.”
He added that after Olea, whom he will “demolish”, he hopes to fight as soon as possible, perhaps in March, so he does not plan to “leave the gym.”
Originally from the Venezuelan city of Maracay, the former super fly champion pointed out that in any of the categories in which they re-classify him, he will put “heart, soul and life” to be victorious in all commitments and to choose the World title.
Last December, Liborio Solis, who develops his boxing career in Panama, spent more than three pounds the weight at which the unification bout was agreed with Daiki Kameda, whom, however, he won on the platform leaving the title vacant .
Solis expressed that he already has a “made name” that he has to take care of and preserve so that they give him another starting opportunity, so the mishap with the weight will not happen to him again, he assured.
“He has always been a correct and disciplined fighter, that last year there was an inconvenience that happens to anyone, in any case the error is a man and correcting it as a wise man,” he remarked.
On the other hand, Solis referred to the decision of the Japan Boxing Commission to suspend the Kameda family from all boxing activities within Japanese territory, due to irregularities that occurred in the fight he had with Daiki Kameda.
The Japan Boxing Commission canceled the license to the Koki brothers, Tomoki and Daiki Kameda, as well as the family boxing promoter company.
The Venezuelan fighter said that “well deserved” the Kameda have been suspended for threatening the referees, judges and the public, and that he hopes to face them again outside of Japan because “they only win in their yard.”
“No one is anyone to be threatening anyone, everyone has what they deserve,” said Solis. EFE
