The defeat that Sport Herediano had against Guanacasteca ended up costing the Mexican coach his job, who lasted just over three months in office.
The poor results throughout nine games were no longer tolerated by the Club Sport Herediano leadership, which on Thursday decided to separate Mexican David Patiño from his coaching position.
The decision was finalized after the Florian team was defeated 2-1 by the recently promoted Guanacasteca Sports Association, a fall that leaves the third most winning team in Costa Rica in the eighth box with only 12 points.
A publication on social networks was the way in which the team made official that the Aztec is not still in his position and thanked him for his work.
David Patiño took Herediano during the preseason, he had preparation games in Mexico but luck did not accompany him during these nine days in which he added four victories and five defeats, a balance that has not satisfied the high command of the rojiamarillos at all.
Patiño arrived in Costa Rica with the poster of having directed a club like Pumas in which he was between 2017 and 2019 but the results did not occur on Costa Rican soil.
Herediano will continue to work with the same coaching staff that Patiño had at his disposal, so Jewison Bennette will be in charge of training while they decide to whom to hand over the reins of the team. (ESPNDEPORTES)
