The stadium that will host the final of the Qatar-2022 World Cup, the Lusail Stadium, is “98.5% finished,” the project manager said on Thursday.
“The structural works, the steel parts and the roof are 100% finished,” said Tamim El Abed in an interview with AFP.
In his opinion, the test and approval phases for the operation of the installation represent “the remaining 1.5%”.
The stadium, located 20 kilometers from the capital Doha, will be able to accommodate between 85,000 and 86,000 spectators.
It is one of the eight stadiums built for this World Cup-2022.
Qatar and the companies responsible have received a wave of criticism in recent years for their treatment of migrant workers at the construction sites for the event facilities. (AFP)
